The Knox Trail Council wants to help you grow your unit. Why do we need to grow you might ask? Well simply, we want to be able to offer every youth in our community an opportunity to join an organization that prepare youth to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law.
Scouting is fun and we want to share that fun with new parents and youth. Scouting offers a unique opportunity for the youth of our communities to grow in friendships, learn through failure, and grow in their love of the outdoors.
Unit growth is an important part of a unit’s health. Units with a strong recruitment drive have many advantages. Leaders are able to draw from a larger community of parents some of whom might be that Tiger Den Leader or a committee member or even that next Cubmaster. Parents make up the key volunteers in a unit but without the youth there are no parents.
Knox Trail Council realizes this and has put together some tools and materials that we hope you will use to increase parent participation as well as grow your unit’s membership. A great way to get new parents and youth engaged in Scouting is by letting your community know about the fun, exciting things that your unit is doing.
Below you will find both new and time tested tools that Knox Trail Council has put together to help your unit with their Spring and Fall recruitment drives. Please keep this page in mind when you start planning your recruitment drive. For more information on a custom membership plan for your unit, please contact your District Executive.
