Pick-Up
Details
-
Your popcorn must be picked up between 8:00am and
9:30am. Unfortunately there is no flexibility with this
since we are working within the time constraints of our
friends at this location.
-
When you arrive at your pick-up location, be sure to
sign in. Distribution is on a first come-first serve
basis.
-
All
paperwork necessary for picking up your popcorn will be
provided by the council staff when you arrive.
-
We
have been advised by EMC that the loading dock area that
we use to distribute the popcorn may be in use by EMC as
well as by us. They have asked us to let our leaders
know that because of all of the activity that will be
taking place in the dock area no person under the age of
18 will be allowed inside the building.
Information to Help Plan for Popcorn Pick Up Day
Before
you can deliver it, you’ve got to pick it up. At the
warehouse we can accommodate all types of vehicles including
trucks. In fact, we encourage units with large orders
(anything over 100 cases) to rent or borrow trucks to pick
up the popcorn. Many of the rental agencies extend discounts
to Scout groups. Please make sure you have enough vehicles
to handle your order. Use the chart below to predict how
many vehicles you need. Deduct 4-5 cases from the numbers
shown for each passenger (child, dog, etc.) that comes with
a driver. This chart also assumes that your vehicle
will be empty and cleaned out. The warehouse is busy and
potentially dangerous. Please try to avoid bringing young
children and pets if at all possible.

The
process of picking up popcorn will be as quick and painless
as possible. If your unit will be moving product with
several vehicles make sure the other drivers know the name
and number of your unit to prevent confusion. We always
appreciate your patience.
At
the warehouse we will not permit any sorting of product by
dens, patrols or individual vehicles. This takes too much
time, creates chaos, and is simply unfair to units waiting
to get to the warehouse. We recommend that you sort your
dens’ or patrols’ orders at a separate site. If weather
permits you can sort nearby, but you must be completely
clear of the warehouse area. Most units choose to count and
distribute their dens’ and patrols’ popcorn at a separate
site such as a church or school.
