General Popcorn Information:

Popcorn is the fastest growing unsweetened snack in the U.S. Americans consume over 5 billion pounds of snacks annually; popcorn has approximately 11% of this market, with each man, woman and child consuming 68 quarts per year. Popcorn is a wholesome, fun food. Its whole grain composition aids in digestion by providing necessary roughage, and popcorn has been acclaimed by health and medical groups f or its nutritional value. Popcorn is high in carbohydrates and fiber and low in calories when compared to other popular snack foods. One cup of plain, air-popped popcorn has only 27 calories per cup. The National Cancer Institute names popcorn as a food Americans should eat more of for its high fiber/low fat content. The American Diabetes Association and the American Dietetic Association permit popcorn as a bread exchange on diets. Popcorn appeals to American’s health conscious nature and fits the Scouting image.

Studies have shown that Scouts selling Trail’s End popcorn contact only 18% of all U.S. households; what a tremendous growth possibility! 2 out of 3 consumers when asked buy from a Scout in uniform. 92% of consumers will buy it again. The average sale is $15.

We have a great sale program with Trail’s End that is easy and effortless as anything we’ve seen, but we need your help to make it a success!
