Trail's End Popcorn Sale

Answers for YOU--click on the links below

Why Sell Popcorn?

Simple:  you can make a LOT of money for your unit.  There are many more reasons but that's really the main one.  The 2006 popcorn sale was the most successful in council history and our units earned $84,000 in commissions! With the springboard from last fall, this sale should go through the roof and YOUR UNIT should be a part of it!

Popcorn enables your unit to do the things you want without having to do lots of fundraisers.  The idea is to have this one fund-raiser in the fall support the entire year of Scouting. This is an officially approved council unit money-earning project that many packs and troops participate in each year. Do your sale in the fall and reap the benefits for the rest of the year.

Here's a list of Top 10 Reasons you should consider the Trail's End Popcorn Sale.

2007 Commission Plan

For information about the 2007 Commission plan (you can STILL earn up to 35% of retail!), check out the Unit Leader Section of the popcorn web pages.

Popcorn Kick-Off Gala on September 6

Be sure that your unit is represented at the 2007 Popcorn Kick-Off Gala on Thursday, September 6.  We'll address any questions you have and hope that each unit will leave informed and well-equipped for a successful popcorn sale in 2007.

How to Sign Up

Just complete a unit commitment form and submit it to the council service center. What could be easier!

To make it easy for you, the Unit Leader Section includes EVERY KEY DATE you'll need for a successful sale.

Consider this:

  • On average, 7 out of 10 people will purchase popcorn when approached by a Scout at the door.
  • The average at-the-door popcorn sale is $15.00.
  • If a Scout talks to 20 customers in an hour, he'll make 14 sales on average.
  • 14 sales at an average $15.00 each = $210.00
  • On average 33% of the retail is your commission = $69.30 for your unit.
  • The AVERAGE Knox Trail Council Scout sold nearly $250.00 in popcorn last year and earned over $82.50 for his unit.
