Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills for All Troop Leaders

You are invited to participate in the Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills course; a fun-filled program of hands-on outdoor skills training designed to help you master the basic skills boys are required to learn to advance from Tenderfoot to First Class. This is a fun hands-on course where you learn by doing!
Instructors will help you learn camp setup, cooking, working with woods tools, knots and lashings, first aid, campfire program planning, map reading, compass use, hiking and backpacking techniques, nature identification and Leave No Trace. Each session will bring the Boy Scout Handbook to life to help you deliver the promise of Scouting to the youth you serve. Your comfort as a leader will increase as you become more confident because of the new knowledge and skills you acquire. You will work with other Scout leaders, meet new friends and have a great time!
Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters are considered trained when they have completed New Leader Essentials, Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills.
