Scout Orienteering Weekend (Scout-O)

THIS EVENT IS FULL – WE HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!

All Scouts are invited to a weekend of Orienteering. It will be a weekend of outdoor adventure as Webelos, Boy Scouts, Venture Scouts, and Girl Scouts learn and practice map and compass skills as well as work on orienteering-related badge requirements.

Saturday’s program will be skill development, training, and practice. Scouts (and adults) will be able to learn orienteering skills such that they will be able to participate in Sunday’s competition regardless of prior experience. Ample orienteering courses will be available for Scouts to practice their orienteering skills.

Sunday’s program will be the annual New England Scout Orienteering Championship competition. Scouts (and adults) will compete for trophies with other Scouts of the same gender and rank or age level.

When registering for the Sunday competition, please note these course recommendations:

  • White Level Course:  Webelos, Tenderfoot Boy Scouts, Junior Girl Scouts
  • Yellow Level Course:  2nd & 1st Class Boy Scouts, Cadette Girl Scouts, adult leaders without prior orienteering experience
  • Orange Level Course:  Star, Life & Eagle Boy Scouts, Venturers, Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts, adult leaders with prior orienteering experience

Please register all Scouts and Adults to ensure that adequate materials are available.

All participants are required to sign, and bring to the event, the  Waiver of Liability
