The three new District Executives will also be present to introduce themselves and outline their plans for their districts. Come along and ask your questions about the direction of the KTC. We will also kick off the rechartering process.

2014 Catholic Diocese of Worcester Adult Awards

The Diocese of Worcester Catholic Committee on Scouting (“CCS”) is please to announce the 2014 adult recipients of Catholic scouting awards.  As the Diocese of Worcester covers three different scout councils, awards are representing honorees from all three councils.  These awards are by nomination and voted upon by the CCS.

  • Bronze Pelican:  This award is used for a variety of purposes to recognize distinguished service to Catholic scouting as youth ministry within the Diocese of Worcester.  The 2014 Bronze Pelican award recipients are:
    • Fr. William Champlin – Pastor, St. Edward the Confessor Parish, Westminster.  Chartered Organizational Representative for Troop 33 Westminster – Nashua Valley Council
    • James Kelly – Worcester Diocese CCS committee member.  Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 33 Westminster and Den Leader Pack 33 Westminster.  James was also a lead instructor for an Ad Altare Dei class in the NVC area in n2013.  He lives in Ashburnham and his home parish is St. Dennis Parish.  Nashua Valley Council.
    • James Gorman – Worcester Diocese CCS committee member.  Cubmaster Pack 108 Millbury and a committee member of Troop 106 in Millbury.  He lives in Millbury and his home parish is Assumption Church.  Mohegan Council.
    • Juan Guzman – District Commissioner for the Mill Town District and has been very involved with Pack 140 and Troop 160 in Southbridge at his home parish of St. John Paul II Parish for many years.  Mohegan Council.
    • Fr. Tom Mahoney – Pastor Emeritus Saint Gabriel Parish, Mendon.  Fr. Mahoney has been Troop 1 Mendon’s chaplain for 20 years.  Knox Trail Council.

Are you the parent of a Webelos Scout who is considering becoming a Boy Scout leader when your son crosses over this year? Are you a Boy Scout leader who wants to more confidently share the outdoor scouting program with your troop? Are you a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster who needs to be fully trained so you can be listed on your troop’s charter when it is renewed in December?
